On paper it was the UCL's match of the day and it attracted Deeping's biggest crowd of the season of 185 but it resulted in a scappy stalemate that suited neither team.
The visitors started brightly with Phil Stebbing pouncing on a loose ball only to see his effort blocked by Dan Flack. Rangers started to threaten with Dan Schiavi's long range free kick taking a deflection off a defender before ending in the hands of Yaxley goalkeeper Ollie Sutton. Another Schiavi free kick was touched by Coulson into the path of David Burton-Jones who set up Henry Dunn but his shot was straight at Sutton.
The second half saw more of the same with little goalmouth action. Scott Mooney set Tom Waumsley free down the right and his cross was met at the far post by Coulson whose attempt to find the net went straight into the hands of of Sutton. Yaxley had a rare sight of goal when a Rob Hughes free kick was met by Wayne Morris but he couldn't beat home keeper Richard Stainsby. Sutton made further saves from Coulson and Flack while for Yaxley Dan Cotton curled a shot wide.
