This season the United Counties League sees a number of different sides competing for the title.
We welcome back Shepshed Dynamo FC and Quorn FC who last appeared in the league in the 2012-13 season and also joining are Loughborough University FC who transferred from the Midland Football league.
We would like to welcome them and hope they enjoy their time with us.
Also joining the division are last season’s Division One Champions Lutterworth Town FC and second placed Anstey Nomads FC. These teams arrive with a very impressive record.
With these and the remaining teams in the league we should be in for hopefully a very competitive season.
On a sad note, with these clubs arriving we also have to say goodbye to some clubs. Firstly, last season’s Champions Daventry Town who we wish all the best to in the Evo-stik South Central Division One plus we have also lost Newport Pagnell Town FC and Eynesbury Rovers FC who have both had a lateral move to the Spartan South Midlands League. Both of these clubs have given a lot to the United Counties League over the years, they will both be missed and we wish them all every success in the future.
We also see two sides relegated, with Wellingborough Whitworth FC dropping to Division One, while Kirby Muxloe FC have had a lateral move to the Midland Football League Division One. Again we wish them every success and hopefully we will see them both push to get back to Step Five.
The proposed league constitution for 2019-20 is-
Anstey Nomads FC
Boston Town FC
Cogenhoe United FC
Deeping Rangers FC
Desborough Town FC
Harborough Town FC
Holbeach United FC
Leicester Nirvana FC
Loughborough University FC
Lutterworth Town FC
Northampton ON Chenecks FC
Oadby Town FC
Peterborough Northern Star FC
Pinchbeck United FC
Quorn FC
Rothwell Corinthians FC
Rugby Town FC
Shepshed Dynamo FC
Sleaford Town FC
Wellingborough Town FC
At the present moment the above moves are all awaiting confirmation which will take place at the relevant League AGM but looking at the sides in our Premier League we should be in for another good competition in 2019-20.
We will post an article about each of the new clubs in a few weeks after the league’s constitution has been ratified.
