Origins & Foundation

Eastwood Community Football Club was founded in 2014 following the collapse of the town’s former senior team, Eastwood Town FC. After Eastwood Town folded, a group of dedicated local supporters, volunteers, and football enthusiasts came together to preserve senior football in the area — and so Eastwood CFC was born.

The club retained Coronation Park as its home ground, ensuring that football would continue in the heart of Eastwood. With a new focus on sustainability and community involvement, Eastwood CFC quickly established itself as a fresh chapter in the town’s rich footballing history.

Rise Through the Leagues

Starting in the Central Midlands League South Division in the 2014–15 season, the club experienced steady growth both on and off the pitch. After a strong campaign in 2016–17 as runners-up, the club went one better in 2017–18, winning the division and earning promotion.

Success continued, and the club’s reputation grew thanks to a competitive playing style and a professional approach. Eastwood’s most memorable cup run came in the 2018–19 FA Vase, when the team reached the Fourth Round, capturing attention nationally among non-league fans.

In 2021, after consistent results and league restructuring following the COVID-affected seasons, Eastwood CFC was promoted to the United Counties League Premier Division North (Step 5 in the English football pyramid).

Community and Development

From its inception, Eastwood CFC has placed community at the centre of its mission. The club now boasts a thriving youth section with over 28 junior teams, providing a clear pathway for young players to progress into senior football. Inclusive, accessible training and volunteer-led coaching have made it a beacon for football development in Nottinghamshire.

Matchdays at Coronation Park — bring together fans of all ages. With modern 3G facilities, a clubhouse, and regular community events, the club continues to strengthen ties with local residents, schools, and families.

Refreshments: The lounge and bar offer an array of hot & cold drinks, tea, speciality coffee, soft drinks as well as a good selection lager, beer, ciders and wine.

Our pitch side tea bar offers burgers, chips, chocolate, sweets, hot & cold drinks.

Directions: From Junction 26 M1 follow the A610 towards Kimberley and Ilkeston. Exit at the IKEA, exit towards Giltbrook. Follow signs for Giltbrook and Eastwood. Carry on up the hill and once the road flattens out Chewton Street will be on the left. The entrance to the club is on the right hand side clearly marked by signage.

Parking:

Parking is extremely limited at the ground and something we are trying to address urgently.

Visiting Club and Match Official are always reserved the appropriate amount of spaces in the club car park. Further parking is available in the “green fenced” car park off Chewton Street with on road parking also available on Chewton Street and the surrounding streets (we do ask people to park considerately, within the law and respect our neighbours)
