This season there have been some requests by teams to postpone matches due to Covid.  Some of these have been granted, others not.  Each request is considered by the League, individually, on its merits.  If Clubs have a positive Covid case within the team or are concerned that a number of players are feeling unwell with symptoms that could be Covid, they are encouraged to get all players who may have been in close contact with these players to get a lateral flow or PCR tests at the earliest opportunity.

For clarity the information required by the League in order to consider a request for a postponement is listed here:

A.  If the postponement request is due to players having contracted Covid:

    1. Confirmation of the number of positive cases and the names of these players
    2. A copy of the text / email received from the NHS sent to each of the players testing positive, confirming the positive result of their lateral flow test / PCR test (as appropriate).  Reporting positive cases through the NHS notification procedure in accordance with Government requirements is essential.

B. If the postponement request is also due to players having to self-isolate due to not yet being double jabbed, and having close contact with players who have contracted Covid, then:

    1. Confirmation of the number of players the club believe will need to isolate and the names of these players
    2. A copy of the text / email received by each player from the NHS confirming they need to isolate, and /
      or
    3. If players do not have the NHS app installed to receive such a notification, the nature of the close contact the Club believes these players have had with the players testing positive, and confirmation that the Club has advised / will advise these players to self-isolate due to the close contact they have had with player(s) who have tested positive and/or
    4. Confirmation that the player(s) have been contacted by track and trace by telephone and have been advised to isolate

C. Any other information the Club believe is relevant to the request for postponement

Only on receipt of the above will the League confirm whether permission can be granted for game(s) to be postponed.
