FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-DIVISION ONE
Long Buckby are enjoying life at the moment and will go into Tuesday night’s home game with Burton Park Wanderers confident of securing another three points, but BPW will be buoyed by their seven-goal performance in the County Junior Cup on Saturday and will be hungry for more goals under the Station Road floodlights.
UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK KNOCK-OUT CUP-1ST ROUND
St Andrews and Aylestone Park was tied at three-apiece when the lights went out at Canal Street so they have to try again this week. I would have thought this would be an away win up until recently, but with Andrews having scored seven on Saturday and Park having a little bit of a blip I’m not so sure now.
UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK KNOCK-OUT CUP-2nd ROUND
Eynesbury Rovers and Boston Town drew 1-1 recently in the league so another close game is expected for this cup tie. Boston are struggling to put out a steady eleven at the moment and Rovers will have the advantage if The Poachers aren’t at full strength for their long midweek drive.
Leicester Nirvana seem to have recovered from their poor start and were 6-1 winners on Saturday, while their visitors Oadby Town have been rather in-and-out this season so a home win looks to be the likeliest outcome from this all Leicestershire tie.
Newport Pagnell Town and Daventry Town looks an interesting tie and the leaders may well be thinking more about their title challenge than winning the league cup. If they do rest players then The Swans are likely to punish them, but we will just have to wait and see what happens on the night.
Rothwell Corinthians have a chance to forget their woeful league campaign and with home advantage over lower mid-table Division One side Thrapston Town they will see this as an opportunity to find something to celebrate. Thrapston on the other hand will be looking at this fixture with confidence and a ‘giant killing’ would not be too much of a shock in reality.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK KNOCK-OUT CUP-2nd ROUND
Holbeach United entertain Melton Town with both sides in similar positions in their respective divisions and this is probably the tie of the round, it’s just a shame it isn’t the other way around. Home advantage will obviously be in The Tigers favour, but Melton have some very good players in their squad and they won’t go to Carters Park as also rans.
Pinchbeck United play host to Deeping Rangers in a tie that could go either way. Both sides are well organised with The Knights being more direct than the footballing Deeping so the contrast in styles will make for a very interesting night in Spalding.
