Prior to the game at Bugbrooke St Michaels against Melton Town, Alan Poulain presented the Future Lions United Counties League Division 1 Manager of the month for December to Jamie Forrest of Bugbrooke St Michael. during December the First Team played 7 games, winning 5 and drawing 2.
The curse of the award came home to roost when Bugbrooke lost 3-4 to Melton Town on the day. The game was well contested throughout but with Bugbrooke going down to 10 men midway through the first half they were always going to struggle against a good Melton side. Bugbrooke made a very good effort to play through the loss of the player even taking a 2-1 lead in the second half. 2 goals put Melton back in front but back came Bugbrooke to level only to suffer a last minute goal giving Melton the win. This was a very good advert for the United Counties League, very competitive, but good spirit in the end
