FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-DIVISION ONE
Long Buckby continue to pick up points although they were held to a 1-1 Station Road draw by Burton Park Wanderers. Paul Caswell headed the visitors in front on 26 minutes but the sending-off of Conor Bird gave them a man disadvantage and Halim Halim earned the home side a point.
UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK LEAGUE CUP-1ST ROUND
With the Canal Street floodlights operational once more following the abandonment at 3-3 a few weeks previous, it was almost inevitable that St Andrews and Aylestone Park would fail to find the net between them in the ninety-minutes, during which Aylestone had sub Michael Adewale sent-off. Andrews won the shoot-out 4-3 meaning it’s now three games without a win for Park.
UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK LEAGUE CUP-2ND ROUND
Eynesbury Rovers were comfortable 4-0 winners at home to Boston Town with all the goal scorers getting their first of the season for the club. Steve Gentle normally plays at centre-half but he was given a chance to play as a striker and he rewarded his gaffer with a brace, opening the scoring after 21 minutes with a simple finish after Rhys Thorpe had set him up. Kye Andrews fired home the second two minutes before the break as he controlled Gentle’s pass neatly. Gentle added his second three minutes after the restart with his outstretched leg after Jack Uttridge had headed down Matt Clifford’s free-kick and James Ducket extended the lead on 52 when he headed home a corner at the far post. The Poachers had Jacob Fenton sent-off with a straight red for a reckless challenge on 66 minutes but the ten men, already well beaten, managed to keep the score down to four.
Daventry Town were worthy 4-1 winners away at Newport Pagnell Town to keep their league and cup double dream alive. Adam Creaney put Daventry in front after eleven minutes when his shot from the edge of the box went in off the post and Jordon Orosz made it two after 28, firing home after Creaney had laid off a Kieran Fitzgerald cross to return the favour of the first goal. Three minutes later Creaney was on target again and also again Orosz deserves credit too as it was he who had been brought down in the box to give Creaney the chance to score the penalty low into the corner. Harry Stratton pulled one back in first half stoppage time for the Swans and make the half-time team talks a little different to what they would have been. Hopes of a comeback were dashed though on 66 minutes when Fitzgerald seized on a defensive error to score and the truth is Daventry probably should have added to their tally after this but the home goal remained unbreeched for the final 24 minutes.
Rothwell Corinthians put their miserable league form behind them to reach the quarter-finals with a 2-1 home win over Division One side Thrapston Town. Lewis O’Dell and Callum Plowright scored the decisive goals for the Prem side, with Henry Cade scoring Thrapston’s consolation on 65 minutes.
Leicester Nirvana and Oadby Town seemed destined for penalties until Tamar Singh Clayton-Naute stepped up with an 89th minute winner for the home side.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE KITMANUK LEAGUE CUP-2ND ROUND
Deeping Rangers faced a very tough trip to Spalding to play Pinchbeck United and they progressed thanks to Michael Simpson’s 61st minute goal, steering a header into the far corner after his initial effort had looped up in the air off a defender.
Holbeach United and Melton Town are in similar positions in their respective divisions, but it was the Premier Division club who eased through 3-0 at Carters Park. Josh Ford opened the scoring direct from a free-kick on 14 minutes and Danny Barker made it two after good work from James Tricks on 24. Melton started the second half much the brighter of the two teams, but Barker bagged his second on 68 to finally kill the Division One team off. Sub Will Bird hit the bar and saw a shot cleared off the line as the Tigers looked for a fourth which would have been a little harsh on Melton.

FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-DIVISION ONE
After sixteen straight defeats in all competitions this season, it was great to see Raunds Town finally pick up a win as they saw off local rivals Rushden & Higham United 2-1 at Kiln Park. They had taken the lead but were pegged back by a Jory Mann penalty before half-time. The Shopmates didn’t let their heads drop though and scored the only goal of the second half for a much needed and well-deserved first three points of the season.

FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION
Daventry Town keep their lead at the top following a three-goal second half display at home to O.N Chenecks. Jordon Orosz opened the scoring for the leaders after five minutes when he latched on to Luke Emery’s pass before rounding the keeper to score. Their advantage had been cancelled out before the break though as Jake Nagy reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box after a free-kick had hit the wall, making it one-apiece after 37 minutes. Daventry found another gear late on though and Jordon Orosz was upended in the box allowing Adam Creaney to net his ninth penalty of the campaign with thirteen minutes left and then Taylor Orsoz weighted in with a late double after 86 and 90, the first a beauty curled home from twenty-five yards out, leaving Daventry to run out 4-1 winners.
Pinchbeck United against Eynesbury Rovers ended in a 3-0 home win, but the main story was the sendings-off of three visiting players. Rovers had a massive hill to climb after Danny Draper (12) and Matt Clifford (13) were both shown straight reds, but they held on goalless until half-time. Curtis Hartley picked up a second yellow ten minutes into the second half and eight against eleven is never going to end well. Goals from Ollie Maltby, Lee Beeson and Tony Edwards steered The Knights home comfortably in the end while Eynesbury prepare themselves for four suspensions, the other coming after an unused sub had been shown red for comments he made.
Kirby Muxloe are having floodlight issues and were forced to kick-off at 2pm at home to Rugby Town and they ended up on the wrong end of a 1-4 scoreline. Danico Johnson is a name I include regularly in my write-ups and it was indeed he who opened the scoring with a low drive from twenty-yards out on the stroke of half-time and then he added a second two minutes after the restart, slipping the ball home at the near post after being set-up by Stefan Blake. Muxloe reduced the arrears with a tap-in from Adam Parry after the ball had come back into play off the crossbar, but sub Harry Holloway took on the scoring mantle for Valley, netting twice after 72 and 85 minutes. The first a low finish from inside the box after a one-two with Charlie Evans and the second a tap-in from Simeon Tulloch’s pull back, although it must be said that Johnson had started both those moves as well.
Rothwell Corinthians couldn’t continue from their midweek cup success and went down 1-3 at home to Oadby Town. I have no details available from this game unfortunately.
FUTURE LIONS UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-DIVISION ONE
Sileby Rangers were the highest scorers as they rattled six past Huntingdon Town without reply at Fernie Fields. Jair Minors was celebrating a hat-trick (27, 56 & 90), while Leon Lobjoit continues to score for fun with another double (45 & 62) and Ryan Archer added a single on 40.
Lutterworth Town bounced back from their surprise defeat last weekend with a 5-0 thrashing of Thrapston Town at Dunley Way. The goals were shared put between Kade Lewis (34), Marshal Keenan (43), Tendai Daire (63), Jordan Small (70) and sub William Clarke (83).
Melton Town had lost their way just a little lately, but they were impressive 3-1 winners at Burton Park Wanderers. Michael Reeve gave them a half-time lead with his 23rd minute goal and Sam Thorpe added a second on 65. BPW pulled a goal back through Stuart McMichael on 72 to make it interesting, but Josh Hill sealed the away win ten minutes from time and the sending-off of Michael Duroe for a second yellow rounded off a disappointing day for the Burton Latimer side.
Aylestone Park returned to winning ways with a 1-0 result at much improved Long Buckby. Paul Pallet scoring the all-important goal on the stroke of half-time.
Birstall United entertained local rivals St Andrews and they shared the points courtesy of a 2-2 draw.
Bugbrooke St Michaels produced one of their best performances of the season so far to see off Blackstones 3-0 at Birds Close.
Harrowby United were held 2-2 at home by Bourne Town, although they will be the happier of the two teams after trailing twice. Zak Munton and Jack Bottriell had both given the Wakes the lead, but Danny Brooks netted a low free-kick and Liam Slater smashed his shot into the top corner to earn the Arrows a share of the spoils.
BUILDBASE F.A VASE-2ND ROUND
Cogenhoe United eased past Leighton Town 2-0 at Compton Park as Jack O’Connor headed home a Liam Tuck corner on the hour and Matt Long volleyed home from Ryan Dove’s knock-down thirteen minutes later.
A Danny Durkin double after 18 & 55 was just enough to give Deeping Rangers a 2-1 win away to Wantage Town. The Hellenic League side had drawn level before half-time thanks to a Jim Glover effort on the half-hour.
Holbeach United won 2-0 away at Wodson Park in Ware after a scrappy game. Joe Braithwaite headed them in front from Adam Jackson’s free-kick on 20 minutes and Jack Smith made the tie safe four minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game when he powered through into the box before calmly slotting home.
Leicester Nirvana were favourites at home to Leicestershire Senior League side Saffron Dynamo and they duly progressed thanks to three second half goals at Hamilton Park. Tariq Wilson gave them the lead seven minutes after the interval and further goals from Abu Cisse (66) and Chris Anastasi (80) secured a safe passage through for the UCL boys.
Newport Pagnell Town had a home tie against step six Hellenic side Thame Rangers and fell behind to a Jordan Davis goal after just five minutes. A quick-fire double strike from Josh Winters (15 & 18) turn the tie around and Dom Lawless added a third with just 25 minutes played. Patrick Buston reduced the arrears two minutes into the second half and Mark Osborn became the hero of the day by saving a Thame penalty late on.
Irchester United bowed out after a great run, falling 3-1 at Hullbridge Sports. Luke Hornsley sent Jimmy Cox clear to open the scoring on 31 minutes, then Hornsley doubled the scoring with near post header from a corner after 38. A cracking volley from Ryan Lovell reduced the arrears in first half stoppage time, but the Essex side made sure of the win when Nathan Scarborough ran on to Matt Tapley’s pass to blast home with eleven minutes remaining.
Peterborough Northern Star went out 1-0 at Redbridge with Ashley Blackburn scoring the only goal just after the half-hour mark.
Wellingborough Town were destroyed 7-0 at home by Spartan South Midland League side Tring Athletic. Kieran Turner and Ashton Campbell both bagged hat-tricks for the visitors with Alessandro Campana supplying the other goal. The Doughboys had Carlos Lewis sent-off after conceding a penalty for the second goal, but even taking that into account, it was a superb win for the Hertfordshire side.

BUILDBASE F.A VASE-2ND ROUND
Desborough Town faced a very tough trip to Bromsgrove to face homeless Worcester City and they put in a superb performance to triumph 2-0.
